Shrek 1

Hi there,
Nesta semana temos mais animação infantil em homenagem ao Mês das Crianças. Desta vez nós escolhemos 2 cenas do filme Shrek 1 ( a minha animação infantil predileta).

A primeira cena é aquela em que o Shrek fala para o Burro que os ogros são como cebolas, porque eles possuem camadas.

Na segunda cena, o Burro e o Shrek estão atravessando a ponte para resgatar a princesa. E como o Burro está com medo, ele não se esquece de lembrar ao Shrek que os burros não possuem camadas.

Espero que vocês gostem.

ANALISE "TOP 10"

1 - They stink = Eles fedem.
"Stink" significa "feder", "cheirar mal". Suas formas são: (stink - stank - stunk)

2 - You get it = Você entende
O "get" tem muitos significados e faz parte de muitas expressões. Infelizmente não há regras para o seu uso. Tem que aprender aos poucos.

3 - It's the brimstone = É o enxofre.
Perceba que o uso do "it" se faz necessário devido ao sujeito ser indefinido. Igual quando falamos: Está chovendo = It's raining.

4 - It didn't come off no stone neither = E também não saiu de nenhuma pedra também

5 - We wear our fear right out there on our sleeves = Nós não escondemos o medo na manga

6 - You are afraid of heights = Você tem medo de altura
Perceba que "ter medo de" é "be afraid of" e não "have afraid of". E se o medo fosse de uma ação o verbo viria na forma "ing". Por exemplo: I am afraid of swimming = Eu tenho medo de nadar.

7 - I'm right here beside ya = Eu estou bem aqui do seu lado
"Ya" significa "you". Porém é muito informal.

8 - Just let me off = Só me liberte / me solte.
Quando usamos o "let off", o objeto pode vir entre let e off ou depois de off. Por exemplo: They'll let fireworks off / They'll let off fireworks = Eles vão soltar fogos de artifício.

9 - But you're already halfway = Mas você já está na metade do caminho
Há algumas expressões com o uso de "halfway" por exemplo:
Never do things halfway = Nunca faça as coisas pela metade.
The movie is halfway over = O filme está na metade.

10 - That'll do Donkey = É o que vai fazer Burro

Procurando o Nemo

No mês das crianças teremos muita animação infantil. Estes filmes são ótimos para treinar o inglês. A maioria não tem muita gíria e é de fácil compreensão.
Esta é a minha cena predileta do filme "Procurando o Nemo" (Finding Nemo). Espero que vocês também gostem.

Dory - Just keep going on, doesn't it? I go, I go... Hey, what are you doing?

Marlin - It's gone. I lost the mask.

Dory - Where did you drop it?

Marlin - You dropped it. That was my only chance to find my son. Now it is gone.

TOP 10 SENTENCES:

1 - It's gone = Acabou / Ela (a máscara) se foi
Sempre que o sujeito da frase for indefinido, usamos o pronome "it". Por exemplo: It's raining (Está chovendo).

2 - When life gets you down... = Quando a vida te decepciona...
"Get somebody down" significa decepcionar ou deprimir alguém, assim como "let somebody down". Por exemplo: I won't let you down this time (Eu não o decepcionarei desta vez).

3 - Just keep swimming - Só continue a nadar
Não se esqueça de que após o "keep" o verbo deve vir no gerúndio. Assim como em outros verbos como: enjoy, forgive, imagine, mind, entre outros.

4 - No singing = Não cante
O verbo no gerúndio é sempre empregado após o "no" em proibições. Por exemplo: No fishing (Proibido pescar).

5 - I'm gonna stuck now with that song = Agora eu vou estar preso a esta canção.
"To be stuck with" significa ter alguma coisa que não se deseja porque não pode se livrar dela.

6 - Something's got me = Algo me pegou
('s got = has got)

7 - Can't complain = Não posso reclamar
Assim como no português, durante a fala, o sujeito às vezes é omitido.

8 - It's so pretty = É tão bonito
Neste caso, "pretty" é um adjetivo, porém como advérbio ele significa "bastante, um tanto". Por exemplo: Life goes by pretty fast (A vida passa um tanto rápido).

9 - Which is a big deal... = Que é um grande negócio...
Não confunda "deal" com "business". "Deal" significa negócio porém no sentido de acordo, já "business" é a atividade comercial.

10 - Good feeling's gone = O senimento bom acabou
"Feeling" também pode significar "pressentimento" dependendo do contexto. Por exemplo: I've got a good / bad feeling (Eu tive um bom / mal pressentimento).

E para fechar o nosso "ESPECIAL MATRIX" com chave de ouro, vamos rever duas pequenas, porém importantes cenas deste filme.

A primeira é a cena final do Matrix 1. A fala tem menos de um minuto e é bem fácil.

Olá pessoal, vamos aprender um pouquinho de "BUSINESS" com Donald Trump?

É isso aí. Neste vídeo ele dá algumas dicas para os negócios.

TIP #1 - INSPIRE
Trump - "Leadership is very important in business. You have to inspire your staff, you have to really make them respect you. People like working for the Trump Organization because I make it fun. I make life interesting. It’s always different. It’s always exciting."

When the interviewer ask you that question, they want to know, what makes you the best.

So, don't talk about personal details such as: health problems, hobby or family.

Após o "let", o verbo sempre vem no infinitivo sem o "to".

Também podemos dizer "sit down" (sente-se).

Neste caso, MAYBE é um advérbio e significa "talvez", porém MAY BE separado, quer dizer "pode ser" / "pode estar". "May" é um "Modal Verb" usado para se referir a possibilidade de que algo aconteça. Ele pode ser acompanhado de outros verbos.

4 - Suit yourself = Como quiser
Há também outras expressões úteis para quando queremos que alguém fique a vontade. São elas:

Feel free to leave, eat, speak, etc.

5 - I felt like sitting = Me deu vontade de sentar
Feel like significa "ter vontade de" ou "estar a fim de", o verbo seguinte sempre vem no gerúndio.

6 - So far, so good = Até agora, tudo bem
"so far" também significa "tão longe" e há também outras expressões como por exemplo:
So far as I know = que eu saiba

7 - Keep going = Continue
"Keep going" é o mesmo que "continue", porém é mais informal.

8 - It's really up to you = Isto realmente cabe a você / você decide
Não confunda "be up to" com "up to". O primeiro já sabemos o significado e o segundo quer dizer "até".

9 - I thought you'd have figured that out by now = Pensei que a esta altura você já tivesse entendido
Esta expressão "by now" é muito útil. Para dizermos "a esta altura do compeonato" basta dizermos "by now" que também serve para: "a esta hora...".

10 - There are programs running all over the place = Há programas em execução por todo lugar
"Running" tem muitos significado interessantes. Por exemplo:
Running a company = administrando uma empresa
Running a Google Search = fazendo uma pesquisa no Google
